Covered in blood, seething from missed opportunities and the victim of another blown off sides call, no one was more relieved when Landon Donovan scored in the 91st minute to advance the Yanks, than Clint Dempsey.
Had Saint Landon not etched his way into American lore until the end of days, I fear ESPN may have had another The Two Escobars to film in the near future. Because everyone knows that Patrick Dempsey doesn’t just save lives at Seattle Grace, but is also an avid fan of soccer.
Thankfully it didn’t come to that. Crisis averted.
