Will Tiger Woods Win The Masters?

Posted on 09. Apr, 2010 at 7:14 am by in PGA Golf

Yesterday people were wondering if Tiger Woods would even make the cut.  Today, it’s whether or not he’ll stay near the top of the leaderboard.  Pretty quick turnaround.  Today will be more telling as to if Tiger will win this thing or not.  Traditionally the pin positions at The Masters are easy on Thursday, hard on Friday and Saturday, and then back to easy for Sunday.  But as Tiger has proven over and over, as soon as you doubt he can do something, he’ll go out and prove you wrong.  Yesterday was the best opening round for Tiger Woods at The Masters, ever.  Marinate on that for a minute.  Tiger Woods is not only a sick individual, but a sick golfer as well.

And how about that leaderboard after round 1?  Anyone wish we could just skip to Sunday keeping that exact leaderboard in place?  The old timers have Couples and Watson, the middle aged guys have Woods and Lefty, and the youngins have Kim in contention.  This Masters could be one of the more epic ones of all time if these guys can keep it up.  History shows that some will falter.  I hope Woods, Lefty and at least one of the old guys can go into Sunday in contention.

Back to the original question, will Tiger Woods win The Masters?  If he’s near the top after today, I say yes.  The guy has obviously spent his time off pounding golf balls instead of pounding chicks.  This is one of the few weekends I’ll be hoping for rain, that way I can sit around the house and watch golf instead of doing yard work.

Pretty solid round, typical Tiger position. Rarely does he drop off after a couple runs like this, so a top 10 seems like a lock.

Maybe the ‘toned down’ Tiger will be even better, this performance has been impressive so far.

Yeah that was vintage Tiger, something like 10 straight pars? Parred the whole back nine outside of two birdies on par 5′s (which is basically par on a par 5). That is what separates Tiger from the rest, he grinds out pars better than anyone else.

he appears to have this one locked down for sure. now the real question is if we’re gonna see some new fist pump on the 18th this sunday?
