Tiger’s absence rough on the golfing world

Has anyone noticed that the golf season is underway? I know I haven’t. Over the last couple years I’ve become very interested in golf and enjoyed watching the final rounds of just about every tourny (only the ones Tiger is mobbing) on my Sunday afternoons. At least thats what I used to do. Right now the Pebble Beach Pro Am Tourny is underway and I can’t even tell you who’s playing in it. Not sure if Phil is there or not, maybe he’s been banned for using illegal clubs again? Right now I gotta say I hope that is the case because it would be a story.

The absence of Tiger was obviously gonna have a huge impact on golf but i’m not sure anybody knew it would be this bad. Now that the Super Bowl is over this is quite honestly the most boring time of the year in the sports world (I know NCAA hoops is getting good but still not March). There are not a lot of significant sporting events going on right now and normally this would be when Tiger starts to dominate. He wins at Torre Pines and then hits up Pebble for another quick mil just to get him going for the Masters which is just around the corner. He starts winning and really brings people in to follow him just to see what he can do. How many 30ft putts can he sink on the 18th hole to win by 1 shot? Is there some new epic fist pump that we haven’t seen yet? It gets to the point where you need to watch him to see if he can win for a 5thor 6th time in a row during the summer. Now without all that there is really no draw at all to watch any golf tournament. It’s probably not fair to the other guys on the tour but if you win a tournament that Tiger isn’t in, do you really feel like you earned it.

Lets take a look at what we’re getting instead of the brilliance that Tiger brings us every week he plays on the PGA Tour.

Wow look at this celebration, one of the more flamboyant ones we’ve seen. Not as cool as Tiger.

Umm what the hell is this Kenny? Looks like he’s pinching one off. Definitely not as cool as Tiger.

Notice the similarity here. Furyk is the man but he’s not as cool as Tiger.

Ok so here we are starting to see some improvement because at least Yang beat Tiger. Needs to work on the fist pump but mad props to him for nutting up when most dudes crumble and blame it on the sphincter factor. Still the coolest part of this photo is that guy in the background so even though he beat him, Yang still isn’t as cool as Tiger.

We miss you Tiger

Phil looks like he’s taking a dump, that is an awesome picture.

Oh let him bring the Tiger Stalk back, or one up it, maybe?
