Ski’s Saturday Horse Picks

Well for all the other degenerates were back at it with another exciting day of horse racing. This Saturday we will be heading back to Santa Anita to play the Sunshine Millions an 11 race card including the 3 Sunshine Millions stakes races. Last Saturday we did ok even though I lost my pick of the day we still came out on top. Today I’ll be playing my pick of the day Win bet, a pick 3 playing 2 of the stakes and the late pick 4.
Pick of the Day: Race (2), Bet (Win Wager), Cost (Whatever you want)
My pick of the day is Norvsky in the 2nd race. Norvsky comes off his best race and moves back to the turf which he’s bred for and at the ML odds of 3-1 you can suspect the odds to finish between 5/2 and 7/2 so you should get some ok odds at how good this horse is.
Pick 3: Race (5-7), Bet (Pick 3), Cost ($8)
- I start this pick 3 with my single Locksley Hall. He’s the ML favorite at 3-1 but I think he will fall even lower to maybe 2-1. This field has a couple other good horses but with the looks of the other 2 races this is the best horse to single
- The 2nd leg were going 4 deep to try and catch some price. I’ll be taking speedball MissMcall at 9/2, Rate of Exchange at 12-1/ Libor Lady at 6-1, and Dubai Majesty at 4-1. Honestly I have no idea how this race will unfold with 5 horses being pace setting front runners but I think I have a good chance taking these 4.
- The Final leg I’ll take 2 Closeout and Tight Precision. Both are shipping over to run this race, and both have the same trainer. But both look to be in the top form and should get one of them home.
Pick 4: Race (8-11), Bet (Pick 4), Cost ($48)
- The first leg of the Pick 4 is the Sunshine Millions Classic and we are taking the top two favorites The Usual Q.T and Compari. Both are 2 of the hottest runners in the So Cal circuit, The Usual Q.T having won 6 straight and Compari winning 4. Q.T should go off as fav around 9/5 while Compari will be right around 2-1. From a horse racing fans point this will just be an exciting race to watch.
- The 2nd leg i’m singling Redsun. Redsun’s last 2 races are the best of the field and considering he only has 3 career races I don’t see why he shouldn’t improve more. If you are down on the day and want to throw a win bet to recoup some money this would be a good bet, just don’t expect to get good odds.
- Since were taking chalk in the first 2 legs were gonna look for some price in these last 2 races. Gonna take 4 in the 10th here to get it. Proud Hillbilly and Bullfighter are no where near any price but could be tough to beat so those 2 I’m taking, but also I’m taking 6-1 Orient Emperor and 8-1 Exile. Hopefully I can get that price home but the key is to just pick winners.
- In the last race I’ll be taking 6 of the 10 entries. The ML favorite right now is a first time starter in a low level maiden race so I have no faith this horse can even run so I’m spreading. Using Shark City, Ol’Dogtown, High Tide Rising, Chailepis, and Stake a Claim. So hopefully were alive coming into this last race we spread and hit the best paying one. And as always remember tip your dealers when you win.
