Butte to Butte 2010 in Eugene

The 2010 Butte to Butte run in Eugene is just 3 days away.  Yes, I once thought like you – running sucks.  However, I first tried this event in 2008 when Eugene hosted the Olympic Trials and it ended up being pretty awesome.  About 6,000 people came down to Spencer Butte Middle School to run in the 10k event, and finishing the race in a sea of runners was a great experience.

If you have any inclination to participate (read: prematurely work off the beer you will guzzle and the food you will crush later that day) in the 37th edition of the annual event, it takes place every year on July 4 at 8am.  The Butte to Butte is a 6.21 mile race: the first uphill, then 1 1/4 miles downhill, and the rest flat, starting from the base of Spencer’s Butte and finishing in Skinner’s Butte park.  This is where you can sign up.
