But....James has been charged (for a much more serious offense) was jailed, had a 40,000 dollar bail set on his head and will be wearing an ankle bracelet for the time being. Under those circumstances, I would say it needs to be treated a little more forcefully. Or, everyone can just sit on their hands, and let this turn into another UW-type situation that happened under Rick Neuheisel. Did owners, GMs, and managers just throw out their two cents on the likes of Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and other 'roid users - DURING THE OFF SEASON? What could Kelly possibly say that would satisfy Duck fans who want answers right away? Let the facts play out. We saw the Blount situation, there was no debate about what happened, and he came out and handled it. The Masoli hearing is still pending, and certainly the James deal is as well. If Duck fans want to 'hear something from the top', they need to start w/ President Frohnmayer and Ad Bellotti. Chip is a leader, but he has plenty of others over his head who are paid to help make decisions like this.
