With opening day for most teams today you never know what to expect out of teams and players. Usually pitchers get hit around a little more then usual or some players are a little slower then usual, but that is not the case for the 3 time NL MVP Albert Pujols. 4-5, 2 Hrs, 3 Rbi and 4 runs scored. We might as well just give him the MVP every year till he retires or gets injured. The dude fucking rakes and I don’t think people are realizing what they are seeing when he plays. If he stays healthy for the next 8-10 years I have no problem saying that he will go down as the greatest hitter of all time. I know Arod lovers will be up in arms about this (I’m looking at you D), but I don’t give a shit because Arod fans are the worst there are. The only thing worse are the people who will bring up a guy who has been dead for 80 years in this conversation. No Ty Cobb is not the greatest hitter ever, he didn’t play against guys who threw harder than 90 and he played against only white players. I’d like to see Cobb hit against Pedro in his prime blowing 97 by him, then dropping a sick 86mph change. Good luck with that Tyrus. So this argument could go on forever, but for doubters of Pujols just watch a couple of his games so you can say you saw him and when he gets recognized as the greatest hitter ever in a decade remember never to doubt me again.

Low blow. I don’t say A “lot-better-than-Papi” Rod is the best hitter ever. He’s just buy far the coolest player to watch. Everything is better when A Rod is in the limelight. Ask the beginning of last season, or the playoffs last year. The Red Sox players/front office/fans based much of their existence since 2004 as the ring leader of the “I hAte Rod” band wagon. He’s the best player FOR baseball.

8-10 more years?!! No chance. His ‘listed’ age is 30. He looks 40, so he’s 35 +/- 1 yr. So, Multiple Holes of Poo has zero chance. Wait a month when his vag pulls a labia and hes out for a month. Or wait a couple years when it comes out that he’s actually 40 right now, and Larussa has been pumping a steroid jizz into him his whole career. All things considered though he does mash.

A Rod being the best player FOR baseball is a ridiculous assertion. He isn’t even the best player for his own team, from a marketing stand point.

Oh Jer you know he is. Last night while watching the game we weren’t looking at our t bombs because we thought they would be telling us that Arod just went deep. For marketing maybe you argue Jete but for baseball its Rod for sure.
No argument here that Pujols is the best hitter in the game. Thats not even debateable right now. He mobs.

Rod creates the biggest buzz. All the negative buzz he draws from every other team/crowd is good for baseball. Until last year, he was the only guy in baseball to get booed in every stadium he played in, including his own.

Baseball needs marketing, A Rod isn’t very marketable. Does anyone deny that?
Not only does ‘Jete’ sells more jerseys, but he’s also on TV quite a bit, selling Jordan Brand gear, razors and electrolyte filled drinks.
My guess is that the casual fan, and chicks, are much more likely to head to the park to see A) the Yankees B) Jetes and then C) A Rod.
