Posted on 04. Jun, 2010 at 3:58 pm by in Power Rankings

Boy are we getting suspenseful lazy.  At least this month’s MLB power rankings are out the first week of June.

  1. Rays
  2. Yankees
  3. Twins
  4. Braves
  5. Red Sox
  6. Cardinals
  7. Padres
  8. Blue Gray Jays
  9. Reds
  10. Phillies

Compare to our May and pre-season rankings.  Go ahead, tell us why we’re awesome (I didn’t know the Red and Padres still had a team…)

Better late than never. How about some DAP for me for being the only one of us to have the Braves winning the NL East and now with the Braves playing the best baseball in the bigs and the Phils offense looking worse than the Mariners I’ll be ready to take full credit when the season ends.

The Phillies have been injured and Werth/Utley are in a funk.

They will work out their kinks in June … by July they will be back to mashing form.

The Reds are hot right now … they will fizzle … besides, the Nats would be the 3rd best team in that division.

haha hey bryan i told you the sox would be in the top 5

ski a few of us had the braves in the playoffs, you aren’t that cool yet.

Kinger had the Sox #2, I’d hate to see what would happen if he ever had an AP college football vote

Yeah, I had the Sox #2.

I hate those teams that are 14 and 4 in the last 3 weeks while facing the Yanks, Rays, and Phillies on the road, wrapped around a visit from the Twins…

They have as many wins as the Twins, Braves, Cards and Padres. There is ZERO chance you would pick any of those teams against them if they started a 7 game series tomorrow. I would love to hear what your quibble is, Bry, I’m sure it’s amusing.

3rd best team in their division, 2nd best team in all of baseball. Makes BCSense to me.

While we’re on the subject of homers, meerkat picking the can’t hitins 3rd is pretty homerific as well.

Hey, Bry , in the last month the Rays and the Yanks are under .500. I bet you didn’t know that. But the Red Sox are 15-4….TAS

Actually neither were Kinger, quit making shit up to validate your homer pick.

At the end of Saturday, in their last 27 games, the Rays were 14-13 and the Yanks were 13-14.

Boston didn’t pick up 5 games in the standings on Tampa this last month because the Rays were playing better baseball than they were…

Awful call on putting the Yanks up above the Braves, Twins, and BoSox right now. The only reason they are 7-3 in their last 10 games is because they played Baltimore and Cleveland. Every guy not wearing #2 or 24 is pitiful with RISP the past 20 days…. Hate to admit it, but their record is hiding some MAJOR issues with their lineup!

I expect more, much more out of TSB team that this list…

Somebody from this site comprised a list that left the Braves and Dodgers outside of the top 10.

The Braves and Dodgers both went 20-8 in May.

    Now that is egregious.

Was that the same guy who is looking at the “year as a whole” or the guy who looks at “potential” for power rankings?

Sorry if I’m not buying the Braves and their 14-18 road record and the fact that they have beaten a bunch of shitty NL central teams at home.

As for the Dodgers, you’re busting my chops over not putting in a team that didn’t make the overall top-10? In fact 4 of the 7 of us weren’t buying the fraudalistic Dodgers. Surely you can find better things to bust my chops about.

I guess its pile on Bry time…not trying to argue with the rankings, but how can you have the Fathers at 4 and the Dodgers not in the top 10? The Dodge are 4-1 against them on the year and 0.5 back (might have been 1-2 when you ranked them).

-On a side note, when will the Padres go with a Los Fathers uni? It seems to be the ‘thing’ now days to go with a spanish version, but why cant they go the other way? -just in time for fathers day. It cant be any worse then the 3-4 different styles camo they like to sport.
