Mariners Need to Take Advantage of a Bad Schedule

Today the Seattle Mariners continue their homestand and their crappy April schedule against the Baltimore Orioles, whose organization is rapidly becoming one of the least competitive in all of pro sports. At 2-11, I can barely even name more than 3 players they have. If the Mariners are truly going to be in the division race all season long, they not only need to win home series against bad teams, but they also need to consistently win when Felix and Cliff Lee are starting. To finish off April, the Mariners head to Kansasy City and Chicago, 2 other squads who don’t have the highest of expectations this season. If they can’t finish off the month at or above .500, I’m going to have serious doubts wether they will be able to do so even with Lee coming back.

If the Ms can steal one of these upcoming series, it should really lift their spirits.

Anything less that at less than winning every series and sweaping at least one is a failure. The O’s are the worst team in baseball in the las decade. That’s saying a lot with the Pirates, Expos, Royals, Reds, and Nationals lurking for that distinction….
Even with Lee back, they’ll still find ways to lose 1 & 2 run games.
