It was the 9th game of the season for Christ's sake. Perhaps after watching the Mariners not score for 20 innings against the vaunted A's staff he wasn't sure if he'd ever see a ball jump out of the yard again. When Bone makes his token appearances at the Safe, he usually jumps to the booth for a short while also. You're right, you don't mess w/ a call like that: get him back in there. Even if it was a special case that Bone was doing the game when Milton jacked a 3 runner, why, in a game full of superstitions would you not keep him in the booth until the M's lost again?
