Brian Cushing Wins Defensive Rookie of the Year – Twice

The last two days I’ve gone back and forth on whether I care about the AP’s decision to re-vote on the defensive rookie of the year award after Cushing got caught shooting up, or taking illegals, or whatever he did. In the end, I loved it.
Not only did I love it, I loved how it played out. He still won the damn thing! Way to make a point, writers! The big, bad AP makes a giant statement with a revote that turned out exactly the same.Â
But to top it off, one guy switched his vote from Jairus Byrd to Cushing! Got to love earning that extra vote by cheating. Maybe that guy was just seeing cross-eyed from drinking too much the night before. Maybe he switched his vote because of all the dirty trouble Byrd’s ex teammates have been getting in all off season. Or maybe he should just get his vote taken away, just like the hall of fame baseball guys who don’t vote in players for the sole reason it’s their first year on the ballot.
Ok, now no more football talk until August.
