Boise State Admits They Are Unethical Cheaters

FoxSports. Boise State will forfeit three football scholarships over the next two years and slash three preseason practices in 2011 and 2012 in a self-imposed punishment for violating NCAA rules, the Idaho Statesman reported Wednesday. The penalties, which can still be altered by the NCAA, come after the university admitted to secondary violations across five sports, including football, as well as an alleged major violation in women’s tennis.Boise State responded to the violations April 25 in a 1,500-page defense and will appear before the NCAA Committee on Infractions June 10.

For everyone that asked “how can Boise State compete like they do”, we now have the answer. Cheating. Cheating. And more cheating. And really, can you blame them? I mean come on, it’s Idaho. They were a JC like 18 minutes ago. Still haven’t figured out that Boise is in fact a city, and not a state. Play on a blue field against the like of New Mexico State and Fresno State. Though, with the move to the Mountain West, they will now be playing New Mexico instead… And it snows there. Yuck.

And don’t think I’m just being a hater, Boysee fan. Remember I am a friend of the program. I have your back.

The most serious charge from the NCAA — lack of institutional control — is being challenged by the university. The penalties could be severe if the NCAA finds Boise State guilty of that charge.

Good luck winning that one, Donks. I mean the NCAA didn’t hit Florida State with LOIC in 09 when they hit them with an academic fraud case where tutors were writing papers and taking tests for  61 athletes. Alabama wasn’t hit with LOIC in 2000 when a booster paid $50,000 to get Albert Means to wear crimson, or in 09 when they fucked up $60,000 dollars worth of texts books and supplies to players on 16 or their 19 sports. BSU must be the ultimate greasy program for the NCAA to come down with LOIC on them.

An internal probe found 63 incoming football players received nearly $5,000 in total for housing, meals and transportation. Most of the impermissible benefits were related to summer workouts that incoming freshmen football players participated in. The workouts were permissible, but teams are not allowed to provide meals, housing and transportation to players before they enroll at the school. The amounts of the violations in question ranged from just $2.34 up to $417.55 and have since been reimbursed, according to the paper.

Oh you know, just paying for food and housing for non-registered freshman, no biggie.  The amount of money seems nominal, but 63 players? That’s like kind of a lot.

“We pride ourselves on doing things the right way at Boise State. As soon as we became aware that these inadvertent infractions were not in accordance with NCAA rules, we acted swiftly and without hesitation,” head football coach Chris Petersen said in a statement.

We may pride ourselves on it, but I never said we conduct ourselves that way. I’m Coach Pete, the King Kong of the Western Athletic Conference!

How can a coach not know that paying for food and housing for players that were not yet enrolled? I know the NCAA book is thick, but that’s just common sense, right?

Boise State has gone 61-5 since 2006 under Petersen, including two BCS bowl wins.

And now we know why.

Come on Donks, you gotta be better than that. If you are gonna cheat, you gotta be smarter about it. And really, it’s not that hard to fool the NCAA. Willie Lyles and his Nissan Xtera are laughing all the way to his 1,100 square foot condo.
