Steven Strasburg and Aroldis Chapman have both recently made their spring training debuts and certainly didn’t disappoint. If you have never seen or heard of these guys, you soon will because they throw absolute cheese or gas or heat. They bring the ruckus!

The unfortunate thing is that both these guys are playing for terrible teams, Strasburg with the Nationals and Chapman with the Reds. That said they have a chance to make them relevant again which is a very cool thing. Both guys throw 100 mph fastballs and have “devastating” off speed pitches. That is basically the complete package at least when it comes to stuff. If they can avoid injury and keep their command this season should be a very fun one to follow. Guys like this don’t come around very often and this year we happen to have 2 of em.

With Strasburg being a righty and Chapman a lefty, hitters in the NL will have their hands full. Once these guys overcome the jitters and learn the importance of throwing strikes they could be nearly unstoppable. Hopefully being in terrible organizations will benefit us as fans and they will start the season up in the bigs or at least be up there in no time. There’s a lot of hype and that too should help us keep an eye on these guys. I know its only spring training but start paying attention to these 2 young studs because they bring something to the game that we don’t often get to see.

To those of you who play in the fantasy leagues, definitely look for either one if not both guys. They may not get you many wins but other numbers should be nasty.

This year more than any other I’ve noticed that the sports world is almost boring right now. If it weren’t for all the off the field BS with the our lovely Oregon Ducks and my man Tiger Woods, nobody would have anything to talk about. As far as baseball goes this year can just be about baseball. There is no steroid side story or anything else to take away from the game. It seems like for the first time in a while it can be about the teams and the quest to get to the world series. There are a lot of new faces in new places and it should be an awesome season. Its a bit funny to say but I’m even excited for spring training to start.

Obviously being here in the northwest we aren’t used to real big expectations with the Mariners. I feel like that is starting to change. They made some bigtime moves and while it may not be realistic to expect them to dethrone the Angels, I personally feel they should do just that. If nothing else at least they will be giving us a product that’s worth watching which is a nice change.

Basically I’m just fired up. I can’t wait for fantasy leagues to get going, there are games everyday and it means that summer is almost here. Here’s to baseball and hopefully one hell of a season…cheers. Don’t be surprised if you see some of these images again this year.
