Point #2 – I wish Portland/Eugene had talk radio like the Honks. Waaaaay more entertaining to listen to. Unfortunately they just cover muck.

Point #3 – People often ask me what it was like to live in a Husky town as a Duck fan. Well, my time up north was the Golden Age of UW football: the 2004-2008 seasons. That is what I heard. Sounded like violins.

Nobody has the Seattle Seahawks selecting Jake Locker in the 1^st round of the 2011 NFL Draft.  But that does not mean there is no chance he will end up staying in Seattle.  Certainly a trade could keep the beloved Washington kid in the NW, it’s just looking very doubtful.

Wait .. one qb? … Locker!?!?!  Sorry, Seattle fan, Kiper thinks they would actually grab Dalton before Locker.  OUCH!!!

Can’t wait for the inevitable “Locker” questions hurled at the Seahawk brass when Jake gets passed over (more likely- selected before).  Or better yet, what if Seattle does select Dalton over Locker … oh my, sports radio the next day will light up with fury.  And I would feel a little bad for Dalton if he had to hear about Locker everyday in training camp.

My guess is Seattle has to grab a QB before Saturday because Hassellbeck is an injury waiting to happen and needs an understudy to eventually replace him.  So if Jake falls to within trading distance of the Seahawks (#25), do they make a move to get him?  Or do they trade down, grab an extra pick, and go after Dalton, Ponder, or Mallett?  Pete is gonna have to answer to why he didn’t go after the local hero with more vigor.

Hearts are likely to be broken by the Puget this weekend.

The local hero better have his bags packed.

Nice one Hawks’ management. The ole ‘upcharge on the container that looks bigger but really isn’t’. If there’s one thing people don’t like, it’s getting ripped off. And if there’s one thing people don’t like to get ripped off on, it’s beer.

Hawks need all the karma they can get – and as much help from the 12th man. Wouldn’t it stand to reason that you would promote more drinking for every member of that 12th man?

Seahawks receiver Golden Taint confirmed a report he and a friend received a warning for trespassing by police at Top Pot Doughnuts in Bellevue over the weekend. Apparently Tate’s friend(I’m guessing LenDale White) “somehow” got in to the doughnut shop and snagged a couple maple bars. Delonte West would be proud of Tate though.

“They’re irresistible,” Tate said. “It was kind of a foolish mistake that won’t happen again. But if you ever want some maple bars, that’s the place to go.”

“A buddy made the mistake of going in, grabbing a couple,” Tate said. “He came out, we ate them. There’s nothing much to the story other than that.”

Petey’s comments were pretty solid too:

“I’m not disappointed in the guy being at a doughnut shop when they’ve got maple bars like Top Pot has,” Carroll quipped. “However, under the circumstances I think they were closed, or something like that, or they were trying to close or whatever. So that’s definitely wrong, and we’ve talked about it and addressed it. And he’s most remorseful and all of that.

“But I do understand the allure of the maple bars.”

Really, it’s only fitting. If anything, not reaching forthe  Seattle native and former USC star, will take about 4 years off the life of Uncle Petey.

Sure, Mays blows up defenseless WRs and QBs but he has the “ball skills” of Rosy O’Donell and hands that would make Jaison Williams look like Jerry Rice.

Dude had a whopping 4 interceptions during his 4 year career in South Central, yuck.

Mays is destined to be the next Roy Williams, book it. But since he runs fast and looks good in a tank top and shorts, look for Mays to be getting burned deep and dropping picks for the next 4 years at Qwest!

Though Reggie stepped up his game for the playoffs, I doubt he will return to the Saints.

Why? … Because the dude is one expensive role player.

Reggie’s salary in 2009 –> $ 2,585,000

Reggie’s salary in 2010 –>  $ 8,000,000

Wow, that is a big jump for a returner/3rd-down-back.

Is he worth it?  No.  No way.

Obviously the fans of New Orleans love this guy, so the Saints must tip-toe around this situation lightly.  And no matter how it rolls out, they gotta come out looking like the good guy.  But then, that shouldn’t be too hard because they did just bring the city a Lombardi back from Miami.

Most likely, the Saints will try and convince ‘Mr. Kim K’ to take a massive pay cut to stay with a championship winning squad.  And we’ll quickly find out how much of a nice guy Reggie really is … especially if the Saints decide to play hard-ball.

Well if Bush wants his cash, then the Saints might just point to his cell phone and instruct him to call around and see who can pay him his money.   Or at least close to what he wants, because again, he really isn’t worth the 8-mill-a-year.

Penny pinchers like the Patriots and Eagles won’t be interested, they will hang up and laugh.  But big spenders like Washington and Dallas will listen for sure.  I can certainly see him in a Redskins uni playing in a Mike Shanahan style offense.   Redskins owner Daniel Snyder is notorious for making it rain on free agents.

What about that former college coach, now in Seattle, taking a call from Reggie?  What’s his name again … Pete something?

Now the Seahawks already have a 3rd-down-back in Justin Forsett, but is he a Pete Carroll guy?  Will Carroll start from scratch and possibly bring in a splashy-former-trojan to make some waves?  Highly unlikely, but stranger things have happened in the NFL to completely dismiss the idea. Certainly Bush is not needed to sell any Seahawk tickets.

How about this … maybe the Saints ask Reggie to play a little CB along with his RB/WR/KR/PR duties.  Hey, Troy Brown mixed it up on defense with New England in 2006 as a slot DB on passing downs … and did quite well actually.  And don’t forget about Deion Sanders as a PR/KR/CB/WR/DIVA.

Just maaaay-be Reggie could use his super-human-athletic-talent to perform awesomely on the other side of the line of scrimmage?

Or maybe he’ll just run to the biggest offer.
