Pac-10 High School Hoops Recap:

Posted on 12. Feb, 2010 at 6:12 am by bbryan in NCAA Basketball, PAC-10 Basketball

It’s Friday morning, time to recap some Pac-10 High School Hoops games from last night.  Let’s get right to it:

Arizona 70 – Oregon 57: We’ve seen this before.  Porter making brutal plays, Oregon missing shots and Ernie Kent making some weird decisions (going to a zone against Arizona?). Really? Zoning Zona is a guaranteed formula for failure, especially when, and I quote 3D: “Our guys are stupid and have no fundamentals on D. How many easy dunks and weak side boards do we need to give up to realize we don’t have the principles to play zone.”  I agree with that entire statement.  They have no fundamentals on O either for the record.  And it’s criminal that Porter still starts and plays a lot, Humphrey should be getting those minutes.

Arizona St. 56 – Oregon St. 46:

/makes wanking motion

California 93 – Washington 81: No shame in the Huskies losing to Cal, but at some point they may want to mix in a road win this Pac-10 season.  They are close to being in “must win the Pac-10 tournament” mode.  Here’s a good question, who’s had a more disappointing season Washington or Oregon?  Almost have to go with Washington here since they had high hopes coming into this season, but  my vote would go to Oregon.  There hasn’t been any improvement throughout the  year, and really the only improvement from last year has been the addition of Malcolm Armstead.  Plus Washington got their Pac-10 title last year, they aren’t due to get one for another 40 years or so.  On another note, Cal is looking like the team most thought they would be this year, the Pac-10 finally can say they have one legitimate team in their conference. My how times have changed over the last couple of years.

Stanford 60 – Washington St 58: I read on the internet that these two teams played each other last night.  Which leads me to ask, if two high school teams play and no one reads about it on the internet, did a game really happen?

Pac-10 hoops really sucks.

All wanking aside I agree Bryan the Pac-10 does suck, even my beloved Bruins are in the proverbiale “rebuilding” mode. My vote for dissapointing goes to Washington though as I didn’t much out of OU in the first place.

come on March Madness and Spring Training

Yeah I just can’t bring my self to recap a game between two teams that obviously don’t give a shit about college basketball. And “rebuilding mode” is a nice way of saying “suck mode”.

Definitely UW has had a more disappointing season. You don’t learn to shoot, pass, and play smart bball over the course of a summer – and Oregon is example 1A of that. But I suppose it depends on your expectations coming in – and I’m well documented as saying a tourney run was fairly delusional.
