Hoyas can do damage

4pm PST – #11 Georgetown @ #4 Syracuse
7pm PST – Missouri @ #2 Kansas
(espn/usa today rankings)
I have not seen a minute of Hoya or Cuse hoops yet this season … so game 1 is a must watch for me. Now that UCONN beat down a road weary Texas, the Huskies might gather some steam from the victory and roll out some wins against Providence and Marquette before running into a tough game in Louisville (coach Calhoun’s status will be the lingering x-factor). Villanova looks strong and won’t drop out of the top ten this year while Scottie Reynolds keeps getting POY whispers.
The Longhorns dropped 2 games in one week … that hurts. But both losses were on the road, so they will stay in the top ten and won’t look bad in March. That leaves Kansas as the other BIG 12 school in the top 25, unless Baylor can hold on to that #25 spot. The Jayhawks got the big man in Aldrich and the floor leader in Collins … let’s see if they get tripped up in conference play.
If the Hoyas can pillage the Carrier Dome on Monday night … than they can play wrecking ball to the rankings by thwarting off a Blue Devil invasion on Saturday. Football season is over (except for that big game in Miami) … time for NCAA hoops to take center stage.

Yeah I know nada about all these non Pac 10 teams. Same thing every year – usually end up hearing my info from Rece Davis and Jay Bilas. Maybe that’s why I suck balls on my tourney bracket every year…
