Where Is LeBron James Going?

(Well, the answer to the title of this article is simple if he chooses to go to Miami: his career and image are going straight down the toilet.) 

Right now I am so confused on this whole ‘Decision’.  All along his free agent choice has been about one or a combination of 3 things: money, his chances to lead a team to a title, and the LeBron brand.  Yet it seems very few of his moves thus far have kept all things in consideration.  

First of all, the LeBron brand has taken a decent hit already.  He hasn’t shown the city of Cleveland the least bit of respect during this process.  The free agent meetings with all the other teams right in the middle of the Cavalier fan base: a mistake.  This one hour special to announce who he’s signing with: a mistake.  

You might ask, “what does LeBron owe the city of Cleveland?”  Well, he doesn’t owe them anything.  But you don’t have to owe somebody a thing to treat them with respect – especially when it’s your home town team, one who embraced him from the beginning. 

In the end, all the mistakes he’s made during this process won’t matter if he chooses the right situation.  He needs to win, and he needs to be the man on the team.  The brand LeBron seems so concerned with will take off if he is the unquestioned leader on a few championship teams.  Right now, that only happens in Chicago.  Since Carlos Boozer just agreed to terms with the Bulls, they would have a pretty stacked team with LeBron.  Just as important, they would have less ego problems to deal with than Miami.

To be honest, I have no clue where LeBron is going.  But for the sake of his overall career, he should choose the Chicago Bulls.
