Dwyane Wade is getting the free pass

That’s right, another post on the SBST … NFL camps have not opened yet … so cut me some slack.  Let’s get to it now.

While LeBron James is getting pummeled by fans and media all over the U.S., it seems that Dwyane Wade can do no wrong.

Why is that?

Prince James is being called a ‘coward’ for joining a team of star players instead of man-ing up and running a team where he is the clear alpha-dog.  LeBron is taking the ‘easy’ road to championships, not the grind it out path of staying with the team that drafted him and showing undying commitment to said team.  How picky we have become.  We don’t just want our super-stars to win rings, but now we only want them to do it the way Magic, Bird, and MJ did.

But lets stop lashing Bron-Bron with a cane for a moment.  Let’s ask …

Why is Dwyane Wade getting the free pass?

Last time I checked, Mr. Wade is still a superstar (that dunks on fools).  I understand Wade recruiting Chris Bosh to move to South Beach so the two can team up and make a run at a title or two.  Wade did win a championship with Shaq as his partner, so he can do it again as long as Riley surrounded the two stars with solid role players.

Why is Wade not getting the ‘coward’ treatment like LeBron?

So it is okay for Wade to ask James to come to Miami and win a championship but not okay for James to join Wade and Bosh?  Who cares if Miami is considered Dwyane’s city or not, that is not the point here.  It’s about competitive fire and alpha-dog mentalities.  These points of interest have fans and media murmuring LeBron ‘the coward’, LeBron ‘the beta-dog’ (okay, i made that one up).

So I’m calling out Dwyane Wade, just to keep things real.

Dwayne, why couldn’t you run with Bosh and and bunch of role players in Miami?  Not up for the challenge?  Didn’t wanna fight too hard against the likes of Orlando, Boston, and Los Angeles come playoff time?  Did you wanna take a handful of nights off during the regular season so you did not have to be the man for the full schedule?  Do you believe Chris Bosh is really not worth all the hype?  Did you feel that running up against the Lakers in the 2011 Finals would have been a hopeless fight?

Well, I guess we will never know how a Wade & Bosh duo would have worked, because Dwyane just felt he couldn’t be the alpha-dog full-time anymore.

I agree with you Meerkat that Wade’s shit is weak also. While he is one of the best players in the league there just isn’t anyone like Lebron. Don’t really think Wade had the potential to win anything more on his own the way that the King had (has).

Wade is loving life right now because he just got the world’s most hyped player to come down and take the heat off Wade because he has yet to lead a team to the promise land by himself. Now, Bron-Bron will be getting so much damn attention that Wade can go back to 6 years ago when it was him and Shaq when he just owned people. Just wait…. He’s going to breakout like 15 year old’s face next year with some sick dunks over people because he won’t be doubled nearly as much as he was the past few years…
